When ordering perishable items like algae or live foods, you can choose between economy, free economy, or express shipping. Please note that if you select an economy option, we cannot be held responsible for any degradation due to extended transit times. Coverage for quality issues is only provided for perishable items shipped via express postage.

Perishable items ordered after Thursday's postal cut-off will be dispatched on the following Monday or Tuesday.

Delayed parcels and tracking queries will be the customer's responsibility to chase initially, you will need to contact the parcel company. If after 14 working days have passed and there's no online updates via the tracking number - we can then add your query into our work queue. We aim to deal with and respond to you within 5 working days.

Price Match

Our price match policy is there to try and compete with some of the competition and gain your business. We will do our best to match or beat any price as long as the following conditions are met:

  • Does the seller have it in stock to collect that same day
  • Is the seller within 30 miles of Coral Passion
  • Is the item UK supported through domestic wholesale companies and not a ‘grey import’
  • Is the seller online only or a walk in shop with corals and fish

For bulk orders and pallet orders, extra discount can be arranged. Please contact the shop in advance of your visit.

Price matching is only for dry goods, we will not try to price match livestock as we deliberately avoid low cost animals due to poor survival rates.

If for any reason out of our control we can not deliver within 5 working days, your order will be cancelled. In the event of cancelled orders, you will be due a refund less a cancellation fee of 15% of total order value. Reasons can include, but will not be limited to, incorrect address provided, failed delivery attempts, etc.

VAT invoices can be issued at your request.

Livestock - in store collection, fish and corals

All our livestock is sold without warranty.

We do not offer any guarantees on suitability, quality or life expectancy once the animal leaves our care.  It is down to the customer to ensure livestock being purchased is of suitable size, appearance, condition and most importantly, you should thoroughly research compatibility, care and environmental requirements before making a purchase.  We urge people not to impulse buy, if you have any doubts at all, then do not purchase the animal.

We do not accept returned animals.

We encourage you to ask questions and examine any prospective purchases thoroughly before leaving our shop. We are happy to show you the animal from all angles to allow you to inspect and assess as required.

For people buying livestock or dry goods online and, collecting after buying on line:

You can buy dry goods and livestock online and collect but you must collect within 5 days or your order will be cancelled. Cancelled orders will incur a cancellation fee of 10% of total order value. You will also need to bring proof of payment and identification, either a passport or driving licence if collecting.

We reserve our right to refuse to serve mail order or walk in trade, without further explanation.

For people buying corals and invertebrates online:

By virtue of you ordering livestock online we assume you have fully read these terms and agree to them entirely.

All online livestock orders will qualify you for 10% refund-credit to be used on dry goods, for example spend £200 on corals and you get £20 off dry goods. This 10% credit must be used within 90 days of ordering your livestock - if you don't use it, you loose it. After your order is placed for dry goods, email tony@coralpassion.co.uk quoting your livestock order numbers and dry goods order numbers, after we've checked the dates and order values, we will refund you 10% of your dry goods order. Credit is not transferable to other customers.

Shipping costs for livestock is £14.99 regardless of how much you spend. We process and pack animals to make it possible for them to survive 50 hours in transit. Naturally the shorter time spent in a shipping bag, results in fewer losses.

There is a £500 maximum buying limit, per order. This is simply because it is too big a risk to send livestock of greater value in one parcel, when all it takes is an accident with a truck at a depot running over the box to wipe it out. Too many eggs in one basket is never a good idea. Corals are precious and we put a lot of time and effort into them, we hope you will work with us, sticking to this limit, even if that means you will have to make multiple purchases to stock up.

Dry goods (rocks, filter media, sand, electrical products etc) will not be sent with livestock. Our standard dry goods shipping charges will apply in addition to livestock shipping cost, even if you are ordering livestock at the same time.

We can not just send livestock out without first agreeing a delivery date. We send corals out leaving us on a Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday, with delivery to you the following day. We can not hold livestock, so if you order online, you must be able to accept them on the next Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Cancelled orders will incur a 10% restocking fee. We kindly ask you to email tony@coralpassion.co.uk with your preferred delivery date once you have placed your livestock order online. Deliveries are tracked and will be from 8am to 7pm.

When we use latin names it is our estimation of what the coral appears to be. We can not guarantee the taxonomy without dissection and microscopy examination.

With all animals, especially corals, it is down to you to fully research the care requirements needed to sustain the animal. If you are not sure what you are buying and if you are not confident with your abilities to care for it, we encourage you not to purchase it. We do not accept returned livestock.

Live stock unavailable: For various reasons, on some occasions one or two of the items you've ordered and paid for may not be available. We are a physical retail shop.  It will sometimes happen that walk in trade may buy the coral you selected before we have had a chance to see your order and remove from the website. Or there may be other reasons that prevent us sending livestock, such has health concerns (no point subjecting an animal to postage if the animal needs more time with us to add condition) or if an item has become damaged (a classic example is a snail or fish pushes a coral into a neighboring coral, causing the two corals to aggressively interact). In this event we will call you twice and, finally email you once. If we haven't heard back from you within 24hrs of our email, we will cancel your order and refund you in full without any re-stocking fee.

Coral Passion provides a live arrival guarantee for mainland U.K. only. In the unlikely event you need to claim for a DOA (dead on arrival) you must adhere to the following criteria:

1. Several clear photos and a video of the animal in the unopened shipping bag, within one hour of delivery.

2. We may ask you to place the coral into your aquarium, in this event we will require photos and videos of the coral under aquatic lighting - the reason for this is, some corals will shrink considerably during transit and may require a day or two to fully open up after shipping.

3. You must be at home to receive the delivery, missed deliveries, or deliveries left in safe places will void any DOA claims.

4. Only the price of the animal is refunded, not the postage costs and all refunds will be a store credit which can be spent on livestock or dry goods.

5. This is a live arrival guarantee only - once the coral or invertebrate is place into your aquarium Coral Passion is no longer responsible for it (unless you have written instruction from us, to place into your aquarium - see point 2).

6. If you reject the parcel or miss the first delivery, you loose your right to any form of recourse.

7. Even if the parcel is damaged and leaking, you must accept it. Sometimes corals can puncture shipping bags, even with little or no water corals can survive. If your parcel is damaged, please sign for it as 'DAMAGED' and accept it and, take photos before opening the box.

8. Very fine branching corals like montipora digitata and pink/green birds nests etc. will often loose a tips during transit as they are so physically fragile. This is to be expected on these types of corals and this generally does not alter the success you should see with the coral in question.

9. We do not offer a price match on any livestock, we deliberately avoid cheap livestock on the wholesale markets as almost always this means poor quality, with more losses.

10. All other non-mainland U.K. regions (Isle of White, Northern Ireland etc) can order at YOUR risk. No live arrival guarantee will be offered for destinations outside of the mainland U.K. Please note Isle Of Man requires CITES permits for hard corals - so it simply is not worth the hassle of posting hard corals to Isle of Man. If you live in the Isle of Man and order corals from us, you will be refunded less 10% restocking fee.
